Theatre Manager:- A Job description for the newly elected
Ok, what happened, did you miss taking that step backwards when everyone else did? Or were you stupid enough to volunteer? Well you’ll learn in time. Theatre Manager is about the hardest job on committee, reviewing what’s written above “The Theatre Manager is the committee member responsible for supplying and maintaining the building in a fit state for members of the public and resident company (EUTC).” You buy bog roll, clean and yell at actors to tidy up after themselves. Then:” They liase with the Works Department and the EUSA Building Manager on matters which concern them such as structural work” The Works Department - you need to keep on at them and then they turn up to replace a dressing room window 5 minutes before the first show goes up on the first day of the Fringe. “They have ultimate responsibility to the fire brigade to ensure that their instructions are carried out” Don’t be bad and don’t let other people be bad either…. “The Manager is accountable to the licensee (President) for maintaining standards laid out in the license conditions.” Don’t let the President do anything stupid either because they probably won’t know.
